Before you head out
A few things for the road ahead.
TouristApp is being prepared for App Store review. It isn’t available to download yet. This page will be updated with the App Store link when it’s released.
Yes. The app supports destination search, nearby stops, saved trips, and turn-by-turn guidance in CarPlay. The nearby-stops overlay is available on iOS 27; iOS 26 provides a Nearby list. Your vehicle and iOS version affect the presentation.
Previously loaded tourist information can be cached, and you can prepare tourist content for a planned route. Calculating new routes and retrieving uncached information require an internet connection. Map imagery may also need connectivity.
TouristApp brings together information from sources including OpenStreetMap, Wikipedia, Wikidata, and the U.S. National Park Service. Coverage varies. Place details include source links and available photo credits.
TouristApp requires iOS 26 or later. Some CarPlay features require iOS 27. Enhanced and Premium voice availability depends on the voices installed on your iPhone.
